Former City Councilwoman of Southern California could be deported

Link
A woman who believed she was an American citizen because she's been in the country since she was one years old could be deported because she voted. She ran and won a seat on city council and all was fine until someone revealed that she was born in Cuba.

Because of this, she was never a citizen so she resigned. Then she was charged with illegal voting because as a noncitizen she cannot vote. She pleaded guilty and paid fines. But illegal voting is a deportable offense so now she's possibly going to be deported to Canada which was her last recorded entry point.

This is beyond ridiculous.

She is a legal resident but not a citizen but because she voted she's going to be possibly deported for something she didn't even know she wasn't a citizen. All because someone apparently didn't like the job she was doing on city council. They should be real proud. As should every official who has a hand in this entire fiasco.

I see that you are disgruntled with both parties, and may I suggest you take a look at Ron Paul (R) for President. Dr. Paul is the libertiarian Republican running for office.

This is a good place to start and then you may want to go to Ron Paul's official site. On this particular page, you will see on the right a link for many of Dr. Ron Paul's writings that are a link to LewRockwell.com that has a whole list of the writings. I am the organizer of a Ron Paul Meetup Group, and you should be able to find a Pennsylvania Meetup Group if interested. I met him in person, and listened to him speak on June 3rd and was quite impressed. I am Linda on Erick's Confession of a Political Junkie.

Welcome to my blog.

While I like the libertarian ideas of the government keeping its nose out of my business, I would prefer that they be more willing to help people that need it.

I don't know if they still have it or not but I took their smallest political quiz a few years ago and it said I was Bill Clinton giving me a if I remember right a 17 on their 0-40 scale. Which doesn't surprise me since I actually liked him.
